 Monday mornings
saw my beautiful niece Sienna dedicated this weekend and caught up with family and friends.
We also got snow which was so beautiful! I am blessed to have family with faith. I have been thinking about my faith this morning and how privileged i am to have my own relationship with God.
Life has brought many challenges in recent years and without a relationship with God i wouldn't be in a great place.
Having free access to the Bible and all it's guidance on living a life well with a personnel relationship with God has liberated me from my darkest hours! It has shown me how to let go of pain, bitterness and forgive people.
It's not an easy process though but God gives us what we need to do it.
I read today in  Psalm 2v8 in the new living bible..

"Today i have become your father. Only ask, and i will give you the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your possession. You will break them with an iron rod and smash them like clay pot's."

God was speaking to me through this passage of scripture this morning and perhaps to anyone else reading this. God has  an inheritance of blessing for us. All we have to do is ask him. The clay pot's in the passage signify all the rubbish that pops up in our lives that we fight with and God is saying that if we ask him he will give us the metal rod to smash them to pieces and rid them from our lives.
Some clay pot's are tougher than others but he will give us what we need to deal with it.

Another passage of the New living Bible says..Jeremiah29v11
" For i know the plans i have for you, says the lord. they are plans for good not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope".
The Bible is full of amazing inspirational writing. I believe it is the word of God which is just as relevant today as it was when it was written thousands of years ago. If you've never tried it, give it a go and start in the New testament, it will change your life!

Draw draw draw!

Well i have started sketching and experimenting with all my paints, pencils and inks.
I put up an image washing line at the weekend to peg up all my drawings!!
baby owl image!

I've been so inspired by children's authors and illustrators recently that i just want to rush in and write a book straight away, illustrate it and send it off.

Marietta  loves my new work space especially my chair!
Ive realised i need to concentrate on mark making, observational drawing and generally just draw draw draw!
I also need to just write write write and read read read!
I need to take my time and enjoy the process!

Winter nights
Well it's February and its really cold. Tonight curry is the only thing that will do it. The kids are peeping at the TV through fleece blankets on the sofa and the end of my nose just wont seem to warm through.
Today before work I browsed blog world trying to find another creative soul who likes drawing stuff. I wasn't disappointed when I came across Daria Jabenko an illustrator. Her work is so bright and full of life, what an inspiration, she made me smile from ear to ear. This put me in a great frame of mind for a primary school playground in freezing temperatures.
The sky was so blue today, I love winter skies and it made me think i need to start drawing on a regular basis again. I want to capture the seasons changing around me, colours and things associated with each season also people and events. Hopefully I'll have some sketches to show in my next post, watch this space...
